Joe Wilson's Passion
During President Barack Obama’s speech to Congress a representative from North Carolina, Joe Wilson, shouted "You lie!" to Barack Obama. President Barack Obama was explaining to Congress that the health insurance would not cover illegal aliens when Joe Wilson interrupted the speech accusing President Obama of being a liar. Joe Wilson quickly apologized to President Obama and Obama quickly accepted the apology. Joe Wilson’s action during President Obama’s speech was greatly disrespectful and unnecessary because it wasn’t the proper way and time to express his belief about the issue of health insurance. Joe Wilson explained that he made the mistake of allowing his emotions to get the best of him which is something natural that all humans experience when they feel greatly passionate about certain things. He made the mistake and realized he did and apologized promptly which is a good way in handling the situation. The mistake Joe Wilson made should serve as an example of how important the issue of national health care is and how passionate American politics are when it comes to greatly changing the Nations government.

I completely agree, Wilson interruption was very disrepectful. He should have waited until a more appropriate time to voice his opinion about the new healthcare reform bill. But having such an outburst is beyond disrepectful. He needs to go back to kindergarden and re-learn the golden rule: treat people how you want to be treated.
ReplyDeleteI agree, what Joe Wilson did was very disrespectful. YOu completely right in saying that he has his right to say his opinion but it was just at the wrong time. One thing that really stands out to me is that he acted as a bully, interrupting when the smart kid is talking. Other then that he should back to school and learn how to listen, and speak at the appropriate time.
