Former Mayor of Birmingham, Larry Langford, was convicted to prison for receiving money, clothe, and jewlery as bribes. The sentene Langford received is shorter than usual sentences. Langford received about 240,000 dollars worth of bribes in return for bond work. Langford argued that he was only convicted of such crimes because he is black and that the jewlery and clothes were gifts and the money loans from friends. I believe that its good Langford got cought but believe they should not reduce his sentenced years so other politicians can learn from Langford and maybe help the politicians think twice before receiving bribes. Many politicians must accept bribes but I guess just the extra currupt get caught.
