A Global Stand

The United Nations is having what is being called “one of the most important global conferences of our time” in Copenhagen to discuss Global warming. The purpose of the conference is to find a solution that will reduce the negative effects of human use of carbon dioxide.
The UK has published many statements of their part in reducing their use of carbon gasses. The UK has also stated a proposal of what they believe should be the goal of all present in the conference. Some of those goals are; A global recognition to reduce carbon emissions to 50% below 1990 levels by 2050, Global temperature rise limited to 2 Degrees above pre-industrial levels, Developed country reduction targets that add up to least 25% below 1990 levels by 2020, Developing country actions that add up to at least 15% below business as usual for 2020.
I believe that this conference is very important and is extremely necessary. The conference is a global attempt to work together to come up with a solution to a global problem. Since global warming is a global issue it obviously needs global attention to be solved. The conference is extremely necessary as scientist have shown that global warming is getting worse and can have extreme negative effects that can lead to the end of mankind.
